Basic Waffles Recipe

This tried and true waffle recipe is perfect for brunch or other special occasions — even dessert! In fact, to make an amazing waffle dessert, try drizzling the waffles with sos/cream and fresh berries.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Yield: Makes 4 to 5 waffles


  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1¾ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup vegtable oil
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)


  1. Pre-heat your waffle iron to its hottest setting. Placing a cookie-sheet under it can help catch any batter drippage during cooking.
  2. Pre-heat oven to 200°F.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  4. Beat eggs thoroughly. Whisk in sugar, milk and oil.
  5. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and mix gently until combined. Don't overmix!
  6. Spray both surfaces of your waffle iron with cooking spray.
  7. Ladle 4 to 6 oz (½ to ¾ cup) batter on the iron and close it. It's not unusual for a bit of batter to seep out of the edges of the iron. If there's excessive leakage, use less batter for the next waffle.
  8. Cook until the waffle iron's indicator light shows that cooking is complete, or until no more steam comes out. The finished waffle should be golden brown and crispy.
  9. Lift the waffle out of the iron with a pair of tongs and either serve right away or transfer it to the oven to keep warm.

CEndOL PUluT TaPAi Uoalss tau nak BUat camner??

4 cawan tepung beras*
1/2 cawan tepung ubi*
8 helai daun pandan (ditumbuk)
5 cawan air
1/2 sudu teh garam
Pewarna makanan hijau
Cara membuatnya:
1. Daun pandan yang ditumbuk dimasukkan ke dalam lima cawan air. Tapis airnya dan dimasukkan garam dan pewarna makanan hijau.
2. Ambil 2 cawan air daun pandan tadi (No. 1) dan bancuh dengan bahan tepung. Ketepikan.
3. Lebihan air daun pandan dijerang di dalam periuk. Bila mendidih, masukkan adunan tepung sambil dikacau-kacau. Kecilkan api dan masak sehingga mendidih, terus alihkan dari api. Biarkan selama 5 minit.
4. Adunan yang panas ini dituang ke atas acuan pembentuk cendol yang diletakkan di atas besin berisi air sejuk. Tekan-tekan adunan dengan sudu leper, biar adunan keluar berjalur-jalur ke dalam air sejuk. Biarkan cendol di dalam air sejuk sehingga ia menjadi keras. Tuskan sebelum diguna.

Sirap gula nipah:
600 gram gula nipah
2 cawan air
4 helai daun pandan disimpul
1. Jerangkan kesemua bahan-bahan di atas di dalam periuk sehingga mendidih.

2. Tapis sirap dan ketepikan.
Kuah santan:
1 kg kelapa parut
3 cawan air masak yang telah sejuk
1 sudu teh garam
1. Kelapa parut digaulkan dengan 3 cawan air. Perahkan santan pekat.
2. Masukkan garam ke dalam santan dan ketepikan.
Menyediakan hidangan cendol:
Sudukan cendol ke dalam mangkuk-mangkuk, masukkan ketulan ais (jika ada) dan tuangkan kuah santan dan sirap gula nipah mengikut rasa.
Selepas itu barulah letakan tapai ubi dengan pulut keatas cendol tadi dan sedia untuk dihidang.
